B.E.T.
Yesterday my second graders were doing interviews with each other. They had to ask each other their favorite things and write them down. So I partner up this girl and this boy together. Back story on the girl, she has to sit with her desk touching the front wall of the room, because anytime she is sat with someone else is just constantly talks to them. It doesn't matter if the other person is the quietest, shyest person in the classroom if they sit next to this girl they are now getting in trouble because she talks to them and they are laughing and having a good ole time all the time. So this little girl gets paired up. She of course is doing more horsing around than working. I've warned her a couple of times to lower her voice. But at one point she comes up to me and says, "Mrs. Graves, his favorite TV show is B.E.T. is this how you spell it." (She is also the kind of child that wants to ask you anything just so she can tell you something.) I kind of started laughing and said, "Well honey say that again and see if you spelled it right." I wanted to say, "Why are you watching B.E.T. at the age of 8 and that's not a TV show!" Oh kids!
