More Tom Hanks

We have been watching more Tom Hanks even though I have posted about it in awhile. Here are the latest we've seen.

1. Bachelor Party

Awful!
Luckily we had fun watching it because we made fun of it the whole time!

Not too bad! We enjoyed this one. For an 80's movie (you like how I started that sentence), it was a good suspense, fun, watchable movie!

3. Volunteers

Awful, awful, awful, awful, awful! It got worse as the movie went on. We started watching it and were so bored we went to bed. Then we waited a week before finishing it because we were both dreading it. It had somewhat of a plot but it was SOOOO boring. Do not watch this movie, unless you have to because you are trying to watch all of Tom Hanks' movies! We even like Mazes and Monsters better than this. At least it kept our attention!

We are so thankful that Tom Hanks chose better movies to be in later in life!

Splash

a Tom Hanks classic.
Jason had not seen the movie but I had so we watched it the other night. Just a good 80's comedy! Pretty ridiculous plot when you think about it, but I guess that's what makes it fun!

Mazes and Monsters

Ok, so the 2nd Tom Hanks movie was worst than the first in my opinion.

The 2nd movie he made was called Mazes and Monsters. We realized later that it was a made for TV movie. We came to the conclusion that it was around the time that Dungeons and Dragons was so popular and this was a movie to show how bad that was to play those kind of games. It was almost funny how bad it was. It really felt like a really bad after school special, sorry Tom!

Tom Hanks

Well we just watched our first movie on our Tom Hanks list.

Here is the thrilling plot:
A slashing psychopath goes on a killing spree, murdering young would-be brides and other wedding party members. It looks like another case of a jilted lover taking it out on every other bride and groom he can find; until a detective, whose fiance was a victim of the killer, figures it's time to avenge his beloved's death. Tom Hanks makes his movie debut in a small role. Directed by Marcello Mastroianni's brother, Armand.

About an hour in Tom Hanks finally shows up and plays a VERY short role.
Overall it was not terrible to sit through.
According to Netflix it gets 2.8 stars. I would say that is pretty accurate!
Glad I watched it to get off my list.
Won't watch it again!

Reading, Tom Hanks, Netflix, Lost, and Lynlee

"Eat Pray Love" is what I am reading right now. The jury is still out on whether I like it or not. I am only on page 60 so I've just barely started. Anyone read it? Opinions?

Jason and I decided the other day that we were going to pick an actor/actress and watch every movie they've ever been in. I picked the first one, Tom Hanks. I picked him because typically, he's such a likable character. Probably ones of my favorites is "You've Got Mail". I just love that movie. After I picked him I realized that this was an easy one to start with because we've already seen over half of the movies he's been in! So we are probably just going to have to watch a bunch of stinkers to get through the list, but that's OK! I am hoping to find gems along the way! I am keeping our progress of the movie watching in our sidebar. Check it out!

Also in order to find some of these no name movies we joined Netflix. I pay $5.49 (with tax) a month and we get 1 movie at a time and we get 2 a month. Which is probably all we have time to watch right now, with us trying to catch up on old Lost seasons at the same time!! (We are crazy, we watched the 4th season first and now we are going back. It's actually been a fun way to watch knowing everything that we know! You too can catch up and watch them for free at http://www.abc.com/!)

And just for fun!!
