Art from the Heart

I like to consider myself a very organized person. I like to keep things in their place. I love bins, baskets and containers to keep these things in. I love labels telling me what's in something. It makes me feel like my life is less hetic. (Making my bed EVERY morning also makes my life feel less hetic but that's probably for another blog post.)

Now after saying all that, this is a picture of my refrigerator.

This is by no means organized or clutter free. It's a mess! But I like it. I like having the faces of my friends and family all over it and seeing them everyday. I do realize I could have pictures of all my friends and family and it could look organized, but I like my fridge. All the sides are covered with pictures. But this presented a problem this year. Lynlee started school and started bringing home art work. Where was I going to hang art work? There is NO refrigerator space. BUT there was a complete wall in our toy room that was empty. So this is what I did...

I bought some frames for $4 from Michaels and I took out the glass and backing. Then I bought some fat ribbon to be able to hang it on the wall.

Then I hung ribbon from the inside of the frame and hot glued a mini clothspin to the back of that ribbon. Then I clipped Lynlee's work to it.

Now I was able to cover this big wall and I can easily display Lynlee's work (which she loves and comments on it everytime she comes in the room). I can also change it out as she does new pictures and just get rid of the old. I keep the really special ones but really who has space to keep EVERY thing they bring home from church or school. That would get totally out of control. But I can still display it for a short time so we all can enjoy it.

(I also have 4 11x14 glass rectangles now. Any suggestions on what I can do with those? Anyone want them? I hate to throw them away!)
