Lynlee's New Friends

I mentioned in the Christmas post that Lynlee is obsessed with Curious George or as she likes to lovingly call him "Monkey George".

The other night I was setting up our futon for my sister-in-law to sleep on and Lynlee decided that it would be her little play area. She set up both of her "Monkey Georges" that she got for Christmas and told them to "lay down!" and then she laid down in between them.

She just happened to have her "monkey George" jammies on. (Which she wants to wear EVERY night and is very sad when they are dirty, luckily we have 2 sets.) She laid there and just played with them on the futon! It was too cute!

BUT
now she has decided she has a new friend that she LOVES...

ELMO!

What is the deal with Elmo?? She had maybe seen him on TV once or twice and now she is obsessed. She walks into a room with a TV in it and is shouting, "Elmo! Elmo!". I don't know what it is about this little guy that is so fascinating! She can not get enough of him. This morning Lynlee starting eating her breakfast and I turned the TV on PBS and as soon as Sesame Street came on she is shouting Elmo's name again and soon it becomes, "Hi Elmo, I love you!" And she has this huge grin on her face. You could not make her happier at that moment.

I took this one this morning. She is laying in our bed while I am getting ready. She will just stare at the TV and be content with watching Elmo.

Jason and I are not sure how much more Elmo we can watch and the phase has just begun! Oh well I guess it's just one of those things we will have to go through! It could be worse!

I LOVE the pic of her laughing on the futon. It's like one of her "monkey george" dolls has told her the funniest joke ever. So adorable.

As for Elmo.... I don't know what it is either. Caleb was never into him and can't stand him now. The girls like him. I am not sure if it's the high pitched voice and constant giggling he does or the fact that he is an obnoxiously bright color of red.

Def. not a fav of mine. He is annoying, but he is also my saving grace when I need an hour to do something. TIVO'd sesame street happens everyday at our house! Even Saturday's and Sunday's. :)

You're right. It could be worse. She could be obsessed with Teletubbies! Chase loves Curious George books. He likes to "read" them when he is in bed.

My brother and sister-in-law saw their first episode of an elmo show a couple months ago and were like, "this is not going to work". :) I haven't asked to see how it going lately. :) Kelly

Join the Elmo club! Lukas has been an Elmo fan for a while now. We have videos, books, a stuffed Elmo, and watch Sesame Street. The videos are getting old, the doll goes with us everywhere (along with Lamby), and I'm pretty sure this will be the theme of his 2 year old birthday party. Eric keeps asking, "Why Elmo?" I have no idea, but since Lukas and Lynlee talk at school maybe he convinced her of the greatness of Elmo. Sorry.

Could be a purple dinosaur named Barney! That was Jasmine's favorite. We could not stand it! Thanks for bloging and keeping us updated! Miss you, Sue

We really like Curios George around our house!! I am sure it is a phase and she will grow out of it (hopefully for your sake!).
