The House

**WARNING- Long post ahead about our closing, I am inserting pictures amongst the story so hopefully it won't be so boring!**
Ok, here's the story:
Monday the 28th we were scheduled to close.

SUNDAY

We got a call on Sunday the 27th telling us the closing would be delayed till Tuesday the 29th. So we rescheduled when our movers were going to be coming and packing and loading. (Yes, you read that right, they packed and moved us. It was wonderful!!!!! We may never move ourselves again!)

MONDAY

On Monday we were going to drive to Dallas so we could be there on Tuesday, minutes before we were going to leave we get a call from our loan officer saying that we should hold tight, at least for an hour so he can find some things out for sure. We sat and finally got a call and sure enough it's not going to happen Tuesday, but he thought he has found a way for us to close at 3:00 on Wednesday in Houston. So this would mean we would not have to travel to Dallas to do it. Great, Wednesday it is. We rescheduled the movers again.

TUESDAY

The movers came to pack everything, we still thought we were going to close on Wednesday. All was great.

WEDNESDAY

The movers came to load the truck. We were waiting and waiting and waiting to hear from our loan officer to tell we are good to go at 3:00. We heard from him around lunch time and he didn't think it was going to happen. When he told me this on the phone, I got so frustrated. We have stuff in a moving truck ready to head to Dallas and we don't have anywhere for them to move it to. We have any empty house that we have to be out of because our landlord has sold it and they are closing on that house the next day. In the middle of our loan officer's excuses I just pass the phone over to Jason without saying a word and walked away. And Jason pretty much took over the phone calls from now on. I was pretty upset and I definitely did not want to cry to our loan officer. So we decided to go and ahead and head up to Dallas and stay with our sweet friends Lauren and Jarrod while we waited to hear. Our moving truck wasn't scheduled to deliver until Thursday anyway so we were ok there for now.

THURSDAY

Basically this day consisted of us hanging out at Lauren and Jarrod's all day and not knowing anything. Our loan officer won't answer our calls because he didn't know anything. Jason finally called the moving people and told them to please hold everything and just wait to come to Dallas until Friday. Thursday was the last day of the month so we thought for sure we would get to move in that day. But no, it still didn't happen. We finally get a call from our loan officer and we hoped for the best for Friday. We stayed a second night with Lauren and Jarrod.

FRIDAY

We are a little on edge today because we were afraid that if we didn't close today we would have to wait until Monday. Our movers decided to go ahead and come up to Dallas. When they got here Jason meet them at his office to unload that stuff. While he was there, I finally got a call from our real estate agent and he told us that the papers will be coming in and he will give us a call an hour before we can close. Yea!!!! Good news, we would actually be closing today.

(Lynlee's room. So far we've got all the pink in there with a baseball border on the top of the wall. I haven't hung anything yet because I am hoping to paint soon.)

We get a call around 1:00 saying it will happen at 2:30. We got to the title company at 2:30 and the papers were there but the money hasn't been wired yet!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. The money being wired takes at least 2 hours to happen. So we signed everything and we met the seller's who were PRECIOUS and the first thing the wife tells us is that we will LOVE our neighbors. That was such a great thing to hear! The sellers decided to give us the key even though the money hasn't come through and they left. We waited around thinking that it might happen. At 4:00 we finally ask our real estate agent to take the key and go let the movers in. (They have just sitting at a Dairy Queen all day. We felt so sorry for them!) We hung around for another 30 minutes and still thought it might happen. At 4:30 they told us we could leave and they would call us once the money got wired through.

(We just found out yesterday that Lynlee has a double ear infection. I guess we should be glad that it took 10 months to happen. But she is so miserable!)

So we went to the house and the movers were well into moving furniture in. They finished up and left and we finally get a call around 6:45 pm from the title company to tell us the money was finally wired and the house is ours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That week was a pain, but in the long run I know people have had much worse experiences. I mean our loan did not fall through or get denyed. It was just a pain! The problem was the the intrest rate had just dropped and all these people started refinancing and we did our loan through CountryWide who just laid off tons of employees and were short-handed. AND for some reason they put the refinancing people ahead of us.

BUT we are in our house and we LOVE it and we do LOVE our neighbors. We've talked to them several times this week and then the welcome wagon came over last night with cookies and they typed up a little welcome note with all their names and phone numbers. So sweet!

Rooms not shown were the master, a guest bedroom and my craft room that has come a long way but is still a mess right now!
