Cute Kid Stories
It cracks me up when I hear kids saying things that you know they had to of heard from their parents. I hear these daily but these were particularly funny to me...
All of the students in my class have a number assigned to them. They have it so I can easily put their papers in order. Most teachers when they get a new student just put the new at the end of the list and give them the next number. Well I am kind of particular about keeping my student in exact alphabetical order. Call me anal, whatever. So anytime we get a new student all the kids from the new kid on have to get a new number. So during the hurricane this was kind of a disaster because I was making them change numbers nearly every week, but they think it is kind of fun to change. So since Christmas we have not had any new students until about 2 weeks ago. So they have had thier numbers for quite awhile. Well the new kids came in, I put them in abc order and figure out what their number would be and shifted them all down a number. As I was going around the room giving all the kids a new sticker, with their new number on it, I get to the kid whose number is 15. I tell him "Ok, ______, you are going to be number 16 now." He just looked up and me with a sad face and just sighed and said, "It was fun while it lasted." I just started cracking up and I told him that 16 would be a great number for him too!
Then the other morning I had duty in the intermediate hall. This means I stand there from 7:10-7:35 and say "Good Morning" about 5,000 times. It is quite entertaining sometimes to watch the kids and just listen to what they are saying. Well one boy from kindergarten comes walking down the hall and I say, "Good Morning". And his respond was, "Another day, another dollar." What???? You are in kindergarten! Whatever.
And finally.... (Mackenzie don't be mad at me for telling this story)
My brother-in-law got in trouble a couple of weeks ago for driving crazy and his mom told him if he didn't start driving right she would take his keys away. Well, our niece, who is 4, hears things very well these days and repeats nearly all that she hears. Later that evening, my brother-in-law was tickling my niece and she was asking him to stop and he wasn't, so she told him that if he didn't stop she was going to take his keys away!
Got any cute kid stories??

My favorite Jacquie story from the last week has to do with one of her smallest students. She is a little tiny girl who couldn't be cuter if she tried. Jacquie often sends her to run errands for her around the school. So, the other day she asked her to take some things to the other teachers in her department. After she explained the errand to the girl she asked, "Can you do that for me?"
The girl responded by tapping her chest with her fist (ala Sammy Sosa)then pointing at Jacquie she said, "I would do anything for you."
Now that's a teacher-student bond.
That was quite a moment! I love that little girl.
I got to meet Matt and Nikki this weekend in Denver; they're awesome and had great things to say about you and Spruce.
Benny and Niki told me a story about their two and a half-year old, Pete, from the previous week. An adult friend of theirs came over for dinner for the first time. As they're talking, Pete looks up at their female guest and says, "What's your name, freshman?"
Adam- I am so glad you got to go to Denver. We loved getting to visit up there and need to go again. I am glad you got to meet Matt and Nikki, they are great!
Chad- Taylor is so cute. I have no doubt that she knows every word to the National Anthem. I was shocked at how much she could say a year ago when we met her!
Kids are awesome. Chloe already does stuff that we think is hilarious, but I dont think its funny to anyone but us. Now my nephew is 5, tells us all the time that he is big now because he is five and that means that he is 5 years old tall! Yall come see us!
It seems like Mallory is always doing something cute! Today I went with Becky to pick her up from her friend's house. She was not ready to leave and cried as loudly as she could for quite a while. Then Becky told her very calmly that if she was going to keep crying she needed to use her quiet cry. So she continued to cry as loudly as possible through closed lips for a few seconds then she said "I only have a loud one." So Becky said, "Then I guess you will have to stop crying." Amazingly enough she stopped immediately and rode happily on. I guess neither of us thought to just tell her to stop crying. That would have been so much easier on our ears!
Andrea- That is hilarious. I am glad that she admitted that she only had a loud cry!
